Garfield County Housing Authority Implements Residential Assistance Program

Fort Collins, CO, November 1, 2010 – Funding Partners, a not-for-profit Community Development Financial Institution, is proud to announce their partnership with the Garfield County Housing Authority, who recently implemented a residential purchase assistance program to provide down payment and closing cost assistance to eligible local residents.  With home prices on the western slope priced beyond the means of the local workforce; residents are typically subject to long commutes, small living quarters and heavy competition from part-time residents for housing.
The Garfield County Housing Authority serves residents living between Basalt and Parachute with community housing programs including: for-sale affordable housing, rental assistance, senior housing and now the down payment assistance loan program offered in cooperation with Funding Partners.  The down payment assistance loan program provides up to 3% of the purchase price with a maximum loan amount of $10,000 to qualified applicants purchasing their primary residence between Basalt and Parachute.
